Sad to hear of the passing of Jane Goodall, who was a real hero. I was fortunate to meet her once prior to giving her an award. We sat backstage here in DC and she was not only mesmerizing...she was hilarious. Brilliant, a trailblazer, fearless and funny is not a bad epitaph. She will be missed.

People in wheelchairs are getting arrested right now in the Russell Senate Office Building in DC. They showed up to tell Congress not to cut their Medicaid, because they cant afford health care without it. If you look closely you can see the zip ties on their hands. #WeWontGetOverLosingMedicaid

We’ve truly lost our way in this country.

An 80-year-old vet who fought for this country just got arrested protesting Trump‘s parade. He deserves respect, not handcuffs.

The news isn’t being clear about this but to people hearing about these Minnesota shootings: Melissa Hortman is the Dem leader in the Minnesota House and was Speaker of the House 2019-2025. She’s probably the most influential state-level Democrat barring the governor.

I've heard execs/Wall St analysts take comfort in fact that consumer spending has held up even as consumer views of the economy are tanking. After all, revealed preferences matter!

But I wonder how much of that disconnect could be explained by cases like this (from a reader):

University leaders need to understand: they are holding INCREDIBLY good cards.

It is so rare in today's polarized era to have the support of 70+ percent of the public against the Trump admiministration on anything. Universities have that—AND winning legal arguments.

The policy lead for CDC's H5N1 response has abruptly resigned.

Sources tell me CDC's response to the bird flu pandemic has been severely hobbled by the chaos of the past two weeks.

Today’s show was my last at CNN. My closing message: It’s never a good time to bow down to a tyrant… don’t give in to the lies. Don’t give in to fear. Hold on to the truth… and hope.

Other stories are already coming out with Musk and Trump butting heads, so hopefully this bromance (gag) is over after New Year's. That's a popular time for breakups anyway.
If this is what Elon did to the valuation of Twitter just wait till he gets his hands on the U.S. Government.
