Pretty optimistic thinking unfortunately. The smoke is already there, we can all see it in plain view with the push of a button.

I'm not so comfortable with the ideological fragmentation that happens online. But I also don't think that the Twitter/Bluesky division is a good example considering that Twitter is a Musk run enterprise and can algorithmically neuter the discourse you're ostensibly trying to foster.

I think there's a discussion to be had about the further fragmentation of ideological discourse. But I don't think the Twitter/Bluesky split is not example.

I also really love On Certainty as well, it really is a great example of how deeply embedded this epistemological perspective is!

For me it was the epistemological shifts. It allowed me to stop looking at concepts as discreet entities and more as systems of understanding. And once you start looking at the world this way the traditional problems of philosophy become less intractable.

Wittgenstein's Philosophical Investigations

Changed my outlook on basically the whole world and my self conception. It takes some patience and some extracurricular understanding but it's totally worth imo

Wow, we gotta get this guy out of the White House. It's crazy he's still president.

Had one of these on the Critique of Pure Reason. Wicked difficult at the time but so glad to have slogged through. I don't think I could credibly claim to understand Kant if I hadn't.

Quite disturbing that my first thought was, "I'm surprised there are even SS guards left to pardon".

Have poor people ever considered how the book market feels about their purchasing decisions? 😔😔😔
