A rule which has served me well: Be sensitive to people alerting on a ~problem~, but insensitive to their prescriptions for it. This privileges you to information you don't ideologically reflexively excuse through any artificially injected baggage. Discontent is a powerful signal not refutable.

I often still get tasks "assigned" which are a variation of "please do this thing" and it has never failed that when I respond with a request to describe the problem, the original ask would not have fixed the issue.
