Yes, from 83 to 86. All taken with a cheapy halina fixed 35mm and developed through the post. Inevitably when returned some labelled with a "Pale - lifeless - inadequate light" sticker. It was an art taking them and I still have a jacket with some red paint on from being against a stage barrier

Your gig list on the blog must be a great memory aid. I' m down to ticket stubs(not always available but check out what Tim Burgess recently posted on making your own!) and time addled memory. However , there was my awful photos at gigs phase so I ll sign off with these. Thanks for the original post

Yes. Mills and Stipe in perfect harmony. My memory of those times is increasingly poor but it remains one of my favourite gig going moments. I think they played the Palais with The Faith Brothers in support the following year.

Oh wow! Can you remember what REM did as their encore that night. I was there and it was, for me, a stunning moment in modern music.

Smithies and Fielding on Script of the Bridge. Last year I had a few hours to kill at Vancouver airport- a lovely experience with space, water, beautiful native art and drinkable reasonably priced coffee. I also spent some time at f#(&1ng Heathrow. Bon chance.

It's a great little remnant of a time with a lovely side 2.

Sorry, late to the party but I did take this in a different life.

Great single. Mine came with a live flexi of one of my favorites by them. Got to say your earlier post featured quite the underrated classic. Have a good day.

Don't worry about it. As confidence in the BBC plummets with every clickbait item at the bottom of the "news" homepage or stooge presenter presenting as journalist. I'm just delighted that Auntie still airs programmes like HI GN FY and Partridge. As for Sheila Hancock ? Genuine Screen Queen-Amazing!

....and then as that white noise suddenly stops it blasts into BreakOut - just completely joyous

"The template was there and the spirit is there, but this is new music from all of us, wherever we are on the scale of public profile or mediated success. The success is in still having ideas and still having the guts to go out there and share them"!A lovely piece. Certainly got me interested.

Did Oscar Wilde quote this?

Hanging around was my favorite single by them and it can be had fairly cheaply in lovely green vinyl. Through with You is on the album which is well worth tracking down. It's called Jellied Eels to Record Deals and is brilliantly eclectic, even including a lovely John Peel cameo.

There was 1 album, a kind of compilation thing. I thought it was excellent. Then they became really quite awful as Mdarn Rimanc or something like that.

Then to compound this madness the idea that there is an alternative to it is never ever debated on any mainstream platform.

I have also never seen that before. I m sure they released a single on the People Unite label so exemplary credentials from the start.
