#JimValentino served as #Image's publisher from 1999 to 2004, where he emphasized quality but diverse books, like #Invincible, #NobleCauses and #AgeofBronze. Most notably was #TheWalkingDead, which Valentino originally rejected before #RobertKirkman convinced him otherwise.

#JimValentino launched his own #Image book with #Shadowhawk #1 in 1992, selling 500,000 copies and being the first Image book to release on time. Since Valentino wasn't as big of a star as his fellow founders, he relied on gimmick covers to help with sales.

Some of the other #Image founders didn't want #JimValentino as part of the group since he wasn't a superstar like them but #RobLiefeld went to bat for him, which is why Valentino would defend him years later.

#MarcSilvestri would spin-off the success of #Witchblade with #TheDarkness on December of 1996. Written by #GarthEnnis, the series soon became one of #TopCow's most popular characters to this day, even developing into an acclaimed video game.

#MarcSilvestri made his big break on #UncannyX-Men before eventually moving to #Wolverine, which he enjoyed as he got to work with writer #LarryHama. To date, Silvestri still considers his Wolverine run his best #Marvel work.

Great crossover event, this time handled by DC, with a who's who of writers and artists. The title story is fantastic by Grant Morrison & Dan Mora, with Batman & Deadpool meeting under some crazy circumstances along with some fantastic meta commentary.

While #WhilcePortacio never made the impact his fellow Image artists have, he remains an accomplished one of this day, along with highlighting his Filipino heritage, such his cover for #Aero #3 in 2019, which featured Filipino superheroes #Wave, #SeaHunter and #RedFeather.

While #WhilcePortacio was approached to join #ImageComics from the start with the rest of the founders, his first book, #Wetworks, was delayed to 1994, due to his own perfectionism and the death of his sister.

#WhilcePortacio was soon made the regular artist on #UncannyX-Men when Jim Lee moved to "The X-Men" title in 1992. There, Portacio co-created the character #Bishop with #JohnByrne & #JimLee in issue #282 (Nov. 1992).

#WhilcePortacio next inked #ArthurAdams pencils for the #Longshot mini-series in 1985 by #AnnNocenti. Adams art style would be a huge influence on comic book artists, especially Portacio and his fellow Image co-founders.
