#MarcSilvestri made his big break on #UncannyX-Men before eventually moving to #Wolverine, which he enjoyed as he got to work with writer #LarryHama. To date, Silvestri still considers his Wolverine run his best #Marvel work.

#MarcSilvestri made his professional debut in #HouseofMystery #292 (May 1981) with the story "And Spoil the Child". He would later call working on anthology books like this great training, as the stories were quick 5-8 pages.

Great crossover event, this time handled by DC, with a who's who of writers and artists. The title story is fantastic by Grant Morrison & Dan Mora, with Batman & Deadpool meeting under some crazy circumstances along with some fantastic meta commentary.

While #WhilcePortacio never made the impact his fellow Image artists have, he remains an accomplished one of this day, along with highlighting his Filipino heritage, such his cover for #Aero #3 in 2019, which featured Filipino superheroes #Wave, #SeaHunter and #RedFeather.

#WhilcePortacio quickly became a hero to many Filipino artists and even mentored a few through Avalon, notably #LenilYu, who has become a successful artist in his own right despite being accused of being a copycat of Portacio at first.

While #WhilcePortacio was approached to join #ImageComics from the start with the rest of the founders, his first book, #Wetworks, was delayed to 1994, due to his own perfectionism and the death of his sister.

#WhilcePortacio was soon made the regular artist on #UncannyX-Men when Jim Lee moved to "The X-Men" title in 1992. There, Portacio co-created the character #Bishop with #JohnByrne & #JimLee in issue #282 (Nov. 1992).

#WhilcePortacio next inked #ArthurAdams pencils for the #Longshot mini-series in 1985 by #AnnNocenti. Adams art style would be a huge influence on comic book artists, especially Portacio and his fellow Image co-founders.

On Oct. of 2019, #Spawn #301 was publishing, making it the longest running comic still owned by its creator, #ToddMcFarlane, beating out #DaveSim's #Cerebus, which made it to #300. It continues to run to the this day.

Not content to make just comics, #ToddMcFarlane launched #McFarlaneToys (originally Todd Toys) in 1994, first delivering quality action figures of Spawn before branching out to licensed properties like DC and Warhammer. It remains one of the best toy manufacturers to this day.

#ToddMcFarlane would become one of the founding members of #ImageComics in 1992, launching his own comic, #Spawn that May, with the first issue selling 1.7 million copies. It would be the cornerstone of his future empire.

#ToddMcFarlane would later have a celebrated run on #Spider-Man, first with #AmazingSpider-Man and later his own "Spider-Man" series. The highlight of this run was co-created #Venom with writer #DavidMichelinie in "Amazing Spider-Man" #298 (Mar. 1988).

After attempting to become a professional baseball player, #ToddMcFarlane turned to his other passion, comic books, making his professional debut with a backup story in #Coyote #11 (Mar. 1985). It would prove to be a successful choice for him and comics in general.
