While I won’t go that far, the articles of confederation were undoubtedly a mess, it is also undeniable that many of the founders were terrified of the average person and created a government that plays into that.

Well and of course there’s the argument that the constitution represent an elite rebellion against the more pure democracy ideals of the revolution.
