As a teacher, accomodations are very much needed for kids, and those kids work their tail off. Anyone who thinks this makes things are ”easier” for them, has never been a teacher. It’s about making things “manageabl,” and that’s the key.
I see we’re doing accommodations discourse, so I’ll share how growing up in 80s and 90s when none of that was a thing was for me.

First off: I did great in school. By which I mean I got good grades, not that it was apsychologically healthy environment.

“Who can’t get over himself.” Interesting way to refer to someone whose father was murdered by his uncle who is now with the mother.
When I majored in English, one of my professors had a devastatingly convincing argument for why Hamlet is Shakespeare's worst play.

He basically said actors love it because it's full of juicy monologues, but there's no there there. It's a play about a dude who can't get over himself.

Movie lengths always depend on quality, a good movie never feels too long, but to find two hours long is odd in my personal opinion.

I love going to antique stores at the end of the week. Even if I don’t buy anything, it is a soothing way to decompress. Today, I found this awesome jewelry box that I plan to put my nicest cufflinks in.

When you don't hear from a cyber friend for over two weeks, it can be worrying. Maybe it's because of the constant traumatic stories I am around through my work, but there is a part of me that does fear the worst.

What leadership looks like. Good for her!
‼️ Mexico's first woman president, Claudia Sheinbaum, just announced she's pressing charges after being groped in the street:

“If they do this to the president, what happens to all the women in our country?”

I joined a US group for a subject I am teaching, and most of the posts are of people who are either under supported, underfunded, or in completely out of their depth. Sometimes all three. It all serves to offer a brutal reminded of how little the US seems to value education. That has to change.

Facebook's pushing of AI posts of movies or actors or whatever else, pretending to genuine reminisces, is so insidious to me. It is this bizarre attempt to approximate humans that reeks of the uncanny.
