A fragment of #Roman terracotta pottery, into the surface of which someone a incised a sketch portrait of a man, some 1900+ years ago - a very round-headed bald man, with a big nose & bushy eyebrows. This is one of my favourite pieces of ancient graffiti! 🏺AncientBlueSky #Archaeology

Found this in my photos from Seville Cathedral.

Historical graffiti is to me is an unpolished slice of humanity that cuts through the grandeur of documented history and shouts “Hey, we were here too.”
