Found some river generation junk I forgot to share. Starts at the highest point on the map, then marches down looking for steepest declines. If it falls into a pit before reaching the ocean, it'll fill-search radial points until it finds the next lowest point out of the pit, then resumes path march.

Update - turns out UDynamicMesh is largely a UObject wrapper for FDynamicMesh3 - a data structure, which can be manipulated off of the game thread. Offloading geo buffer generation & FDynamicMesh3 construction to separate threads, then just passing the data back to UDynamicMesh, is very fast!

- You can now place probes onto the planet, which will reveal raw material deposits. Still need to animate the probe's travel.
- UI tells you what resources you have, what a probe/lander flight path will cost.

Gonna go to sleep & try for a big push tomorrow.

- Can put pins on the planet that will move with the surface rotation
- Can get a preview of your shuttle crew's flight path down to the planet
- Improved planet shadows
- Stubbed some UI in

All the math for this is awful and fake, I have no idea what I'm doing lmao
