Yet another strike day for Imperial staff today. Here are some of us on yesterday’s picket line- a much sunnier day than today! #ICLstrike

On my way to yet another picket line as this week’s round of strikes starts again. Management are still refusing to reopen negotiations with the unions. #ICLstrike

I've been helping this researcher with her PhD and it looks like she's doing really interesting work. She's looking at the health needs of people who are now adults but were born prematurely. If you're 18+ and were born in the UK before 37 weeks of pregnancy please do this 20 minute survey. Thanks!

On my way back after another picket line. Now the proud owner of a @uniteunion.bsky.social bobble hat which will help keep me warm on our next round of strikes in 2 weeks (if management doesn’t reopen negotiations) #ICLstrike

Having a really interesting evening watching @faizashaheen.bsky.social talking to @garyseconomics.bsky.social about class, inequality, the tactics of the far right and the need for a wealth tax. Even better, it’s happening a10 minute walk from my flat!

On my way to South Kensington for the 3rd of 10 days of strike with management currently refusing to reopen negotiations. We’re asking for a pay rise that would take us back to what we were paid in 2018. Currently staff are working the equivalent of 1 month a year for free. #ICLstrike

I feel the need to take photos on the marches because they’re so rarely reported. Compare with the Tommy Robinson march of 150,000 that had loads of articles about it. These are huge, peaceful marches where people are against all racism and injustice. Never again means never again for everyone.

Yesterday I marched with 500,000 people to celebrate the ceasefire & commemorate 2 years of genocide in Gaza. The only mention of it on the BBC is reference to it as a hate march. www.bbc.com/news/article... They have never been anti semitic. Here are some of the Jews also marching in solidarity

Had a lovely night out watching the documentary ‘Strange Journey: the story of Rocky Horror’ with intro and q&a from director Linus O’Brien. Also on stage Richard Hartley (music) Belinda Sinclair (original Janet) and Sue Blane (costumes.) A great celebration of the play, film, cast and cult.

On my way back from 4 nights in Poznan, Poland. It’s a place I’d recommend: friendly laid back vibe, gorgeous buildings, lovely green spaces, excellent food etc. Including visiting a nature reserve with 7 meteor craters (there are only 200 known in the world) & eating Michelin recommended cheese.

I’m sure the Defend Our Juries arrests will get any headlines today. So, just to record that there are also hundreds of thousands of people peacefully walking through London once again asking the UK government to stop arming Israel and introduce sanctions

If you’re in London today, here’s the route of today’s peace march. The Central Line is mostly closed all weekend for engineering works but the start is easy to get to from Kings Cross if you usually join this route at Holborn.

A pretty good turn out at tonight’s emergency protest outside the Israeli embassy. Ceasefire Now.
August 22, 2025 at 7:24 PM
For those of you in London, there’s an emergency protest outside the Israeli Embassy from 6pm tonight.

I wasn’t imagining to have as much fun tonight as I did. But it turns out the 2nd magic mike is a brilliant film?! Thanks to the bfi for pointing that out.

Thousands of people marched in the rain through London today to once again ask the UK Government to stop arming Israel

Average day out in Leyton.

For the record, yesterday 350,000 people marched through the streets of London to ask our government not to arm or support a genocide.
June 22, 2025 at 9:15 AM
Those of you who can get to London tomorrow, join me & my family and hopefully thousands of others on this march. We will once again be asking our government to stop arming Israel.
June 20, 2025 at 1:15 PM
The march through London yesterday had so many people on it that we joined 50 minutes late, stopped to wait for a friend for 45 minutes and were still nowhere near the end. It was barely reported and some sources are saying only 20,000 were on it while @pscupdates.bsky.social say half a million.
May 18, 2025 at 8:51 AM
If you’re in London tomorrow, come on this peace march which is also commemorating the anniversary of the Nakba. There will hopefully be thousands there but there’s always a good, peaceful atmosphere. Official start time is 12. We generally head over for 1.

I’m not saying that where I work is posh. I’m merely observing that this was one of the stalls at today’s farmer’s market.

A great turn out in Parliament Square today to protest this week’s Supreme Court’s decision.

This is my condiments cupboard at the moment. You’ve got to buy whatever Laoganma products you see being sold. Obey the strict woman! And you can’t go wrong with Henderson’s Relish either.

Stephen Thornton talking about research conducted into impact on an essay mark by citing certain material. For every textbook citation, the politics student got an extra half mark (0.583). For every journal article they got nearly 1 whole extra mark (0.977) #lilac25
