Best wishes to you in that endeavor. If you have time to consider other options, I link to some on my profile page, but I know life can get too busy for such distractions.

The 8 biggest tech companies account for 40% of the S&P 500's market value so you are certainly supporting the tech companies who dined with Donald Trump and won favors like TikTok's algorithm and "Energy Policy" which involves them being first in line for deregulated dirty power and scarce water.

All investing in the US supports a fascist economy. Consider ex-US ESG funds.

Any investing in US companies helps to power a fascist economy. Look for ex-US funds and send Wall Street a message.

Take a look at the top holdings in ESGV. They are big tech companies breaking their word on renewables, led by billionaires on their way to being trillionaires. Dump all your fascist US investments. Take a look at VSGX, maybe.

As our political agency struggles, we should use all of our economic agency. I link to ways to do that on my profile.

How can there even be US ESG investments? Shouldn't ESG funds avoid fascist, authoritarian countries?

Vanguard Personal Advisors won't let their clients hold less than 50% of their holdings in US investments. The US ESG funds seem to be heavily weighted in the big tech companies which are missing their commitments to move to green energy, so not very 'ESG'ish.

I generally agree, but look into burner phones if you want to document goings on. Wired Magazine has a good article on taking phones to protests and risk management.

I agree with civil disobedience, but boomers like me should also move our retirement investments out of the U.S. That can send a message. So many people, even young people, make lots of noise but don't connect what they spend money with what supports an oppressive economy.
