Okay. Can somebody under the age of, I don’t know, let’s say 50, explain this AI gibberish to me? All I remember from that day is that I was driving the north shore of Lake Superior.
In an AI generated summary of my day’s listening, Spotify describes the range of music from last June 30 as “diverse” adding the incomprehensible phrase “genre hopscotch, vintage to vapourwave”.

At first glance I thought someone had perched a fried egg on this branch. Closer examination revealed #fungifriends (lichen, actually). Photo taken at Fort Albany, Ontario.

A closer look reveals that it is not a small fried egg, but rather an interesting looking lichen, a “flowering” lichen, or possibly two different lichen species enjoying some quality time together.

Two California lilac stumps, two colonies of turkey tails. #fungifriends
Turkey tail fungus seen from above. Each “tail “ has a radial pattern that is possibly growth rings. A group of Turkey Tail fungi growing on a low stump, surrounded by dried leaves and a few bits of greenery.

An old, rotten log lying on the forest floor, has a faint aquamarine smear and some odd little fruiting bits on it. Is this foxfire? Both photos are pretty much identical, but they may not be focused the same.

Labouring in the corn fields today to build up my repertoire of dad jokes.
