And Maggie! Don’t get me started. Absolutely every facet and aspect of her identity would have made infinitely more sense and poignancy if she had been allowed to exist in the queer spectrum rather than written into banal loveplots with unattainable men.
The utterly ludicrous plot twist to Chris’s Catholic monastery visit - (spoiler) his paramour is a cis woman who yentld her way into monk hood through a vow of silence! Real plot line: Chris acknowledges his own homoerotic capacity and that his admiration for Whitman’s queerness isn’t an abstraction
I really do appreciate and enjoy “Northern Exposure” except for the contrived heterosexual dalliances of certain characters in order to override any obvious queerness in their presentation. Gutless writers tbph avoiding plots for both Chris and Maggie (example) as variously coded lgbt orientations.

It's the DEA that has scheduling authority, already given by Congress. This is about scheduling.
