I don’t think corporations, private equity firms, etc. should have their hands in home ownership—full stop.

In the end, I think issue boils down to capitalism and societies view of home ownership. Homes are for living, not investing.

Shelter is a basic human right that should be affordable at the very least. Whether it’s owned or being rented.

Individuals owning second homes pales in comparison to corporations owning 30% of a market and likely being a driving force behind the artificial inflation of home prices; thus driving up down payment amounts.

On top of that, renters are already being squeezed.

If more people owned there’d be less demand for rentals. Less demand means more competition between rental owners (I.e. lower prices).

This would be great for young, middle, and lower [income] families. Not to mention young adults and professionals earning wages that haven’t kept up with inflation.

Judges review executive actions to prevent abuse; that’s the rule of law for a reason. America is a democracy, not a monarchy. No one is above the law. Reject this authoritarian mindset.

Worst case, you’re told “I’m not interested.” Best case, you vibe with the person you’re approaching, you exchange numbers, go on a date, etc..

My thoughts exactly! I get the finding romance on apps is easy, but so is getting out there and simply approaching someone. I know this is easier said than done for some but in the end, it’s not some astronomical feet that can’t be accomplished.
