A performer who was part of Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show was detained by security after waving the Sudanese flag and Palestinian flags together with the words “Sudan” and “Gaza” written on them toward the end of the performance, the NFL says.

I really hope New Orleans keeps up its infrastructure and security improvements long after the Super Bowl is over. Residents deserve lasting progress, not just a temporary facelift for visitors. Local leaders need to prioritize the people who call New Orleans home.
