(Working on a clever description.) In the meantime--art, music, books, dogs/cats, archeology, geology, wildlife, gardens, sheep.
Republicans have proven that they're not just willing but eager to inflict pain for power. Democrats surrendering now just feeds that sick mentality. What kind of coward trades 40 days of hardship for empty promises? We know better, why don't our elected representatives?

Seems like the right day to post pretty much every scene from All the President's Men.

🚨🚨🚨Friendly PSA: I, like everybody else, am thoroughly enjoying the live action soap opera going on today. We have earned our giggles. But don’t forget that they are known to use distraction techniques to try to sneak stuff by us. So enjoy, but don’t lose all focus. That is all. Resume giggling 🤣🤣🤣

This seems too much like a performance for our benefit. But then you consider who these two shmoos really are and, who knows, it might be real.

Remember when Republicans fought central planning?
Now they’re applauding a president who tells Apple where to produce and Harvard who to hire.
They've trading in limited government for micromanagement, freedom for fealty, and market forces for Mar-A-Lago favors.

The stupidity we are dealing with (or, frankly, not dealing with) is stupifying.
The *economics* of the special tariff carveout for British-made luxury vehicles is a bit too revealing.

I like this guy. Even better, I understand this guy. (3, count 'em, 3%)
My guess: The US-UK almost-a-deal may have reduced the average tariff rate Britain charges on American exports from 1% to 0.8%.

And the UK is only 3% of US trade.

Better, more wonderful than anything you’ll see here today. (Sound up, because that’s the best)

Considering the speed with which the downhill slide is happening, is it far fetched to think that US citizens (us, not them) will be targeted soon? Doesn't sound crazy now.
Underscoring the slippery slope aspect of Trump’s recent Alien Enemies Act declaration…

Collaborators.
And there it is.

Accommodation and acquiescence. Learned helplessness and preemptive surrender. Retreat and complicity.

In the midst of an unprecedented assault on the constitutional order, the nominal opposition party fails to use the one key tool in its arsenal to push back. What a disaster.
The final tally to advance the CR is 62-38.

Fetterman (PA)
Gillibrand (NY)
Hassan (NH)
Peters (MI)
