When people say ‘climate change is a scam’ do they mean:

1. It’s not happening
2. It’s happening but doesn’t matter.
3. It’s happening and it matters but the steps we’re taking are ineffective?

Easy to have some sympathy with 3 but the conclusion should be to do more and better, not to give up.

What do you think when you see this hand sign? Live long and prosper? Well this is a headstone in the Jewish cemetery in Frankfurt maybe 400 years old. It’s the sign of the kohanim priestly blessing, which Leonard Nimoy is said to have remembered from his childhood, and which he adopted for Spock.

Greetings from the Mauritshuis in The Hague, and from what I think is one of the most moving pictures ever painted: likely Rembrandt's last self-portrait, dating to the year he died. The aged artist fixes us with a look of utter world-weariness www.mauritshuis.nl/en/our-colle...

Was asked the other day what can we do in such dark times. Of course we should find ways of resisting and speaking out. But also gave my generic advice. When unsure what to do, do what you think has the most chance of bringing joy to yourself and others and/or being of lasting value.
