Ok, that's fair enough. Looking forward to reading the new newsletter. You're absolutely right that the club needs to get better at identifying and signing young talent. Hoping that's changing now, but gonna take a while for it to be realized.

I don’t think you’re necessarily wrong in arguing that Sesko might turn out to be a bad investment. I just think it’s too early to conclude that the new regime won’t work. To me, focus on adding physicality and raising the technical floor plus recruiting more young talent to develop are pos signs

I’m sure the plan was to sign Delap on the cheap and then add in a midfielder (Baleba) with the remaining funds. But I’m not sure what other top (potential) strikers were available for a Delap-like fee, though I don’t have a good overview of the rest of Europe.

As for home video, Netflix does have a deal with Criterion, but that seems more for vanity purposes than actually creating another revenue stream.

I don’t see the tactical issue with Mbuemo, Cunha, and Sesko, but maybe I’m missing something. Do you mean they should have gone for different striker type? I do think the club had a hard decision choosing between striker and CM this summer and I don’t know what the right decision was.

Ok, let me just clarify. I think recruitment has improved (albeit from a very low floor). It’s tentative, however, because a) takes time to assess quality of players and b) this org is still in transition (new head of scouting, etc.) Plus, new strategy focuses on youth, which takes longer to realize

Yeah that first year was a real mixed bag. I like watching Zirkzee play but he’s a poor fit for the team.

I disagree there. They’ve made mistakes, mostly related to managers, but recruitment has gotten better and they’re doing better clearing out the dead weight. Though we’re probably 2-3 years out from concluding, given the state of the club.

If we switch to a 433, Cunha can play as an 8, Mbuemo on the right with Amad as a deputy, and Sesko up top. Might have too many CDs, but not a terrible problem to have

I'm also not sure Amad is the long-term solution for RWB, or Amorim might not think he is. I really like him as a player, but he's fairly small and short. Right side ends up a bit short with him and Mbuemo.

Sure would be nice to have a proper left-footed left wingback.
December 4, 2025 at 9:26 PM
Yeah, and I can't quite figure out why. Maybe it's tactics or players but it feels like the players run into a funnel as soon as we get close to the box

Someone needs to do a deep-dive analysis of why we won't/can't do cut-back goals.

It’s so good!

There’s a scene of Finn Wolfhard talking to a little girl in the first episode that feels like it’s gonna end with Chris Hansen walking in.
