PSA: nonpartisan Legislative Analyst Office's analysis of Prop 36 as a ballot measure highlighted there was no funding mechanism and possible costs to the counties in the hundreds of millions. That was just smoke and mirrors since we were already prosecuting organized retail theft.

This is where we’re at as a country: Federal thugs detaining & roughing up a United States Senator for trying to speak to a cabinet secretary & question administration policy.

Anyone who continues to doubt whether this is fascism is living in an alternate reality.

Following that morning of debating TPs versus impact, it's easy to forget what's happened already under Trump 2.0's first 100 days. Here's follow-up from something that happened before he was even sworn in, where constitutional rights were trampled:
Judge orders Border Patrol to halt illegal stops in the Central Valley after dozens arrested in raids
A federal judge found Border Patrol agents engaged in "a pattern and practice" of violating people's constitutional rights after they detained and arrested dozens in a Central Valley raid in January.

I served in the Peace Corps, above the red line in Namibia. Politics there are complex, as they are in South Africa, folliwing apartheid rule. Now, an Afrikaaner is seeking to privatize government in the US for his own gain here, as well as defund USAID and bring sanctions against South Africans.
