The WNBA CBA proposal discussed today would bring max salaries up to $1.1 million. That's a big increase, but still means the highest-paid player would almost certainly make less than the commissioner.

I don't think that's the case in any major men's sport, and just feels kind of gross, right?
Cathy Engelbert's salary compared to the average WNBA player
Salaries are one of the biggest sticking points in contentious labor negotiations as the WNBA CBA is set to expire. How does Cathy Engelbert's salary compare?

Mo'ne Davis spent years telling people that she was done playing baseball. She did not want to be forever defined by what she did as a 13-year-old in Little League, a decade ago, and she did not feel like there was space for her to do much else. And then she felt differently. On Davis and the WPBL:
Mo’ne Davis Is Finally Ready to Play Baseball Again
More than a decade after becoming a Little League sensation at age 13, Mo’ne Davis is set to make more history as the face of the Women’s Pro Baseball League.

Work asked our team to start experimenting with short-form video stuff. They asked us to be authentic and true to our own interests and styles. In case you're wondering why I've been sitting in the ice-cold river by my house talking about terrible NBA shooters.
It's snowing but the NBA Ice Cold Report is still here, with top-tier cold-plunging analysis on the shooting struggles of Ja Morant and Ace Bailey.

Savvy, galaxy brain solution to the Aspiration/Kawhi scandal by the Clippers — just be so terrible that no one cares about your financial shenanigans to try and create a contender.

Whatever crisis PR person came up with this plan deserves a raise.

Also, trying to bring back this irregular series from a few years ago called Deconstructed, where I try to break a player's game down into it's most meaningful and interesting components.

Here's what I found with Paolo Banchero.
Paolo Banchero, deconstructed
Paolo Banchero is on the verge of superstardom. But breaking his game down to its component parts reveals how he — and the Orlando Magic — can be even better.
