¡Gracias!

Can this device or similar not be a way of going down from a 760 floor to 550, and therefore target most EU platforms? Maybe @talgo.com could do something like that.

The height difference doesn't seem drastic, but of course not for me to say. It requires serious study. I just wonder if anyone really tried to do so, given the lack of connected service planning that I mentioned.

This area. It looks made for easy operation of the LGV, with no coupling with other lines, so connections possible mostly at large terminals.

Then maybe the "bean counting" focus is what's wrong here. Strikingly opposed to what Mr. Krakovitch is saying here but oh well podcasts.apple.com/es/podcast/j...

Sometime this results in a certain roughness. Even with digital artefacts, this is rather a guarantee of success, because by focusing in the current step we avoid late changes in defining elements that cause dangerous ripples (see "ripples" in Jesse James Garret or "pace layers" in Steward Brand)

We’ve survived to dystopian visions in the past. We need to keep imagining different.

Side by side transclusions can also be very useful, showing filtered context without context switch (which has a high cost). We do have current usages for that, for example the simple highlighting of text over the whole file that happens when you select text on a code editor, or a mini-map.

I don't know how the process of creating a standard that allows a compliant trainset can be coupled to another compliant trainset looks like. Something like I can connect an approved CEE plug on an approved CEE socket without testing all the plugs and sockets for all providers.

My hope is that we re-gain at some point the modularity lost after local loco (tension, signaling) + RIC coaches were lost. It is as if international maritime transport ditched containers to in favour of something better, faster, more efficient... but can only sail in a specific ocean.

Pero para llegar ahí hay que invertir fuertemente en buen transporte público, porque (a pesar de algunos casos de representantes valientes) para generalizar la desinversión en el coche hay que ganar más apoyo de más usuarios de TP.

I don't get this. Is LFPPerthus the problem though? I mean TACs are absurd—A double Nightjet trainset would pay 1172 €, in comparison for ~60€ for a freight train—but still, how much would that be in the context of the whole cost structure of the Zürich-Barcelona?

Megacorps often do this annoying thing of absorbing any little program a bright person may invent and, like Jupiter, integrate it into a rolling mess of gas—it becomes slow, distracting, complicated and simply unusable
February 6, 2025 at 12:22 PM
One, a single programmer or small group means they'd need to size according to what they can relate to—no, product managers cannot do this with a large app, they rarely can go beyond the surface (think pace layers) or worse, substitute their grasp with metrics that have a life on their own
