Reading the news headlines this morning…happy for my Canadian friends that the King is paying them a visit and will be opening parliament for them. As a US citizen, I’m mortified that it’s necessary for the king to defend Canada’s sovereignty against the USA in his speech.

It has occurred to me that our friends and family who voted for Trump have — in a way — given up on our democratic ideals that require us to negotiate and compromise with our fellow citizens. Instead, they pushed the “easy” button by supporting a guy who says he can “fix everything” for them.

Oh, that’s a relief…I was worried there for a while about Elon’s conflicts of interest. But I guess we’re good…Trump said so! 😅
The White House has said that any of Elon Musk's conflicts of interest regarding his work with DOGE will be monitored and addressed by....Elon Musk.

He's determining which government contracts are "fraud" while he himself has billions in government contracts.

Hello?

I just did my first new follower block! 😄 It was a profile with a lovely-looking lady (pro-tip: I’m gay). Oh my goodness, she was bullish on the Trump
administration’s edicts on cryptocurrency! And she just wants us to know how we can build a better future by investing in crypto! Thanks, but no. 😆

America is going to have to rethink our entire approach to technology.

We may also have to rethink our approach to capitalism.

Time for my annual trip to the laundromat, to use their larger machines to wash rubber-backed rugs and the king size comforter. Plus eavesdrop on conversations in multiple languages! 😄

Looking at this morning’s headlines quoting Trump’s comments on the North Carolina and California disasters, it occurred to me: if I wanted to un-unite these United States, I couldn’t think of a better way to go about it than to install a president that talks and behaves like Trump.

Just saw a video clip of Elise Stefanik, Trump’s nominee for US ambassador to the UN, refer to the “overwhelming majority” of US voters that voted for Trump and his policies. I do not consider a 1.47% spread between Trump and Harris to be “overwhelming.”

Well this is a surprise! I guess Biden is tossing his own version of a monkey wrench into the right-wing works. 😄

Biden says the Equal Rights Amendment is law. What happens next is unclear
To come into effect, the constitutional amendment would need to be formally published or certified by the national archivist, who has declined to do so in the past. What happens now is unclear.

Yet more evidence we voted in a president who should be in jail, not in the White House.
