I’ve discovered I quite like a bit of gentle scariness! Lucy Strange does it really well and would recommend any of her books. Lockwood & Co is a brilliant series that Netflix sadly cancelled. For gothic horror, loved the quirky Fledgling and most recently Dracula & Daughters. #KidLitUK #UKKidLit

I was in a slump with a run of morose adult books so it was discovering the quality of MG fiction. I started with these four magical books and I haven’t looked back since! I would go with something that involves me emotionally like The Dawn of Adonis or The Wrong Shoes.

Just finished Ink Girls by @mariekeyn.bsky.social which I picked up after it was recommended by @mariannedoherty.bsky.social. A brilliant and hopeful book that celebrates truth, diversity and the power of words. Beautifully illustrated by Sylvia Bi. #GreenWillowBooks @harpercollins.bsky.social
