When it’s your birthday and mom makes you wear a stupid hat and pose for pictures when you just wanna eat your special treat and play with your new toy

I took a silent book club restorative yoga class in my local bookstore today and it was everything I needed

Things have been chaotic lately. Here’s some pictures from my wander through the woods last week

Sunny has come such a long way from the crusty little bottle baby I rescued

Could you try something like this?
How to cut an old t-shirt to make a jacket for critters recovering with stitches to keep them from chewing and scratching them. Image shows bottom half of t-shirt (half with no sleeves) cut to lay flat with 4 holes cut into it (1 hole per each paw). The side edges of the material is cut into strips. Once you put the cat’s paws through the holes, tie the strips from both sides together creating kind of a Mohawk of ties along the cat’s spine. The cat should have room at the front to have its head out the front with the ties beginning behind its head.

It’s one of my prized possessions, especially since we lost her a few months ago. She wrote us all a poem and included a picture of her with each of us as newborns in our individual books. I don’t think she’d care if I shared this recipe because it’s a pretty easy one lol
Handwritten recipe for cherry-chocolate mice: Cherries with the stem (in a jar) Candy kisses Sliced almonds Chocolate candy coating Melt several pieces of chocolate coating in a double boiler. Dip the pointed end of of two almonds in the chocolate and place them on the flat part of a candy kiss. Hold the kiss point down for about 1 min so the almonds will stick. These are the ears for the mouse. Dip cherry into chocolate up to the stem and press cherry onto the candy kiss. Make sure the almonds are between the cherry and the kiss place on wax paper to dry. *you can also use white chocolate kisses and white chocolate to dip the cherries. Poem hand written on notebook paper: “If I could wish for you only one thing, I would wish for you to feel with my heart. Only then will you know how much you are treasured.” I love you! The building dread, suspense, and overwhelming sense of despair makes this short, fast paced story absolutely fantastic! It was published in 1976, but feels every bit as relevant today, especially with the current political climate. 10/10

Since this is getting some traction I wanted to share my favorite part of any of his newsletters I’ve received. “What would a person do?” has helped my social anxiety a lot
Quote saying “No one asked me for input, but my one rule of thumb in thorny social situations is always: "What would a person do?" I find that in most instances, asking myself that provides almost all of the perspective I need to start making a decision. "What would a person do?" simply means "How would a reasonable person act in this situation?" You want to text someone after a date but it's only been an hour. What would a person do? Probably if it was a good date, they would, and it would be fine! But also if you waited until tomorrow, that would be fine too! That's how people mostly are! Is it okay to show up to Thanksgiving Dinner with an unannounced +1? Hmmm...seems like even a pretty flexible person might be annoyed by that. Maybe don't impose even if you know the host has extra chairs somewhere. This rubric is less about making the best possible choice from a set of options and more of a way to get yourself out of your head. If you've never heard of a person acting this way before, it's likely you're being ridiculous. Alternatively, if an action is normal, but you're worried for some reason you are uniquely weird or bad for doing it, maybe tell your brain to shut up and be regular. That's my new etiquette guideline. Ask yourself: What would a person do?”
