tl;dr - I’m a Democrat now. It’s official ⬇️

Today, I’m again changing my political affiliation. Because I believe we need to build the largest possible coalition to defeat authoritarianism and oligarchy in this country, I am joining the Democratic Party.

In fact, I was more than a member. I was parliamentarian for my county caucus in ‘12 and then chaired the caucus in ‘16. I traveled to Iowa to volunteer for Rubio’s campaign in the ‘16 caucuses and gave a speech on his behalf at a Kansas caucus that year. So I didn’t take leaving the party lightly.

Former Republican here. It’s been a few years since I’ve taken the quiz at politicalcompass.org, and I knew my views had shifted a bit. But this result surprised me! I used to be just a little off of center in the blue quadrant. Interested to see results from anyone else who wants to share!
