Watched Die Hard with teenage daughter last night. She'd never seen it, absolutely *loves* Xmas movies. Her verdict: .. good movie; not a Xmas movie on grounds that would not be weird to watch it at any other time of year. This is a sound distinction I think. Noone watches Elf in March.

Once my sister asked to borrow a book & I directed her to my bookshelves to pick. She came back with nothing, saying that my books were like a college reading list. I balked.
Today, as I put my books away in a new place in my apartment, I realize she was right, & that my fave author is v obvious.
