I need abled people to understand that breaking someone's wheelchair is like breaking your legs. Both of them. They want to get away with breaking people's legs.
When my mom died, I got a lot of the "the first year is the hardest" little nuggets of grief experience from people. Some of them were true for me, some weren't.
What no one warned me about are the weird moments where you almost re-realize "oh, my mom is dead" in real time.
These moments suck.
