The GWR was primarily built as a bridge route across southern Ontario, connecting New York State and Michigan. The line's usefulness was limited by the incompatible gauge of 4 feet, 8 and 1/2 inches (1435 mm) on the American railways at either end of the system. 2/3

$2k and municipal?!
The city used to run ambulances for free (like the rest of the fire department) but then discovered that they can recover $2k per ambulance ride from people's insurance. So they bill you for $2k.

If insurance doesn't pay, they should just forgive the debt.
$2.3-ish billion in fines related to motor vehicles!!!!
