i think the disconnect with the bluesky team and the userbase is that the userbase, the people who occupy this place, think of bluesky as purely a twitter alternative and the bluesky team thinks of it as purely a coding foundation for others build off of

the Bsky "discover" algorithm is so, so, SO insanely bad. I would say maybe 1% of "suggested" posts are even vaguely relevant. instead, you get people replying to nothing, tiny accounts griping about vague life problems, and literal teenager DeviantArt-tier uploads. 3 mins of content a day, tops

bluesky has this awful issue where you're unable to post about / interact with something without it guessing that you're 100% obsessed with That Thing. You like a dog post once? How about 50 uninterrupted posts of people's Dogs. You only like Dogs and never want to see non-Dog related content again

personally I think it's a bit morally fucked up when people on this site post sexual content without marking it as such! I don't give a shit for my personal experience but it makes it impossible to recommend this site to any young person.
