It's more about tone/guilt by association. There is nothing technically inaccurate afaik, but a casual reading makes it appear as though Lydia's stances across the board are equal to Frey's, and their donors', which I know is, in many respects, untrue.

That, to me, was the deal-breaker for considering Lydia as a candidate; at best, she was naive and ignorant to why she was the favorite of these groups. At worst, it meant that, despite the things that I knew to be personally true of her, she was running a campaign opposed to my values. 6/end

Republican donors/voters, landlords. I think it's possible that Lydia was unaware (Jackson Hampton, who I also know, and who almost ran before he decided to support her campaign, was certainly naive to it), but that ignorance had to have been short-lived 5/x

For instance, very early on in her campaign, I saw the people who came out of the gates in support of Lydia, and it was a whos-who of reactionary liberals, who have argued against police accountability, argued in favor of mayoral authoritarianism, against humane responses to homelessness... 4/x

Combine that with the hit/smear campaign on Lydia, it's been very frustrating to watch. But here's the thing: while Lydia the person is wonderful, Lydia the candidate has some significant issues that the smear campaign is accurate on. 3/x

at least based on the people I've spoken to and the materials I've received. Like, *I* know Aisha has done a *lot*, but a lot of that is behind-the-scenes and not flashy, and there's no way most people would be able to tell. 2/x

On the spectrum of possibilities I would put her closer to Chughtai than to a Vetaw or Rainville, assuming she doesn't cave to pressure if she happens to get elected.

I think it's unfair to her. I agree that she has attracted the support of pretty much all the worst people you can think of, but from what I can tell it's because they hate Aisha Chughtai that much, and Lydia is "less that"
