The current state of monitoring in the enterprise environment is on another level. There are active means to ensure those resources are being used. Though yes currently I could just randomly pull the lever for no reason.

But it's the principle of the thing. I dont want to pretend im into slop.

that is a pretty good deal

Being told that I have to use snakeoil for tasks that have zero realistic need for it just to justify the money spent on the fairy dust is unbelievably frustrating. I hate everything about this. It's at that point where I with I had gone into farming or trade skills.

This fantasy that it pops and everything goes back to pre-2020 just wont happen sadly. I hope I'm wrong.

I dont usually chat about this stuff but in the last few weeks I've received notice that I will be required to start using "AI" in some form for work and I am at my breaking point on this.

I want this bubble to pop so badly but the realization I came to mid-2025 is that the gov would never let that happen. It the country will either build a scaffold around the racket to prevent it from being exposed as fraud or it'll get bailouts if it explodes.

This sums it up perfectly. Well photographed cosplay.

But again there was never a world where a "Prime 4" would've resulted in a worthy payoff. Even the original announcement in 2017 reaked of cheap and quick fan service to generate interest in Switch buy-in.

If anything I was more interested in what Bandai Namco's version of it was going to be.

That's not to say this wont be a good game but based on these previews it sure seems like a middling game. The very unnecessary open world bike segments and now today's reveal that large chunks of the game revolve around chatty companion characters with scripted escort segments. Really?

Other than a few unique pieces of software, multiplayer games remains the last hurdle. I too play less multiplayer these days but what few I do play arent compatible.

Based on the interviews yesterday though it sounds like Valve is hoping the Linux growth in 2026 will force dev/publisher hands.

I had a GCU preorder from early 2019 but when the pandemic happened they auto-converted it from pickup to carside delivery and in that shuffle the order somehow no longer exists.

There remains multiple hurdles though. There have been some big improvements in 2025 but it's still not there for me yet. My hope is that there will be exponential gains in software compatibility going into next year. Linux hitting 3% in the last survey was super significant.

In many ways the "AI in video games" topic reminds me a lot of the early days of kickstarter. Where you had this huge flux of people with varying levels of non-experience pitch these grand design ideas that involved random values ( X amount of players, Y amount of content...) with no vision in sight

I am beyond tired of hearing these people "pop off" as the kids say. They just spew meaningless garbage that emphasis how detached they are from reality. More concerning are the hordes of people rallying around moronic defenses like his.

But I have to say this eink faceplate is 1000000000% appealing. I want this to be a thing.

Also hey faceplates are back and that's rad.

Steam Machine specs are good/bad depending on POV: As a "gaming PC" it's mid-low tier. But as a "mini PC" that does games it looks excellent.

I think if you approach it as a 1080p/1440p box rather than the advertised 4K60 then it looks much more capable.

it just comes down to price.
