I left Twitter for 6 months because it became a hostile MAGA echo chamber. Sadly, I’m finding BlueSky is becoming a mirror image—just on the other extreme. It’s hard to share nuanced or different views without being met with personal attacks. We can disagree without dehumanizing each other.

Trump claims Harvard and the White House are in active talks on a “historic” settlement—but provides zero details or evidence. Praises Harvard’s behavior in negotiations, yet fails to explain what is being settled. Harvard might be negotiating… with a magician?

Florida’s attempt to loosen child labor limits — allowing teens as young as 14–17 to work overnight and longer school‑day shifts to fill gaps from deported migrant workers — has collapsed in the State Senate…for now. But it could resurface.
Farms in Florida are facing sudden labor shortages from both detentions and fear-related absences of undocumented farmworkers. This is leading to harvest losses due to agricultural produce going unpicked. In addition, local businesses tied to the farm industry are suffering from reduced activity.

A federal judge granted Harvard a TRO blocking enforcement of the June 4 proclamation targeting its ability to sponsor F/J visas. The court found risk of irreparable harm and preserved the status quo through June 20. Case No. 1:25-cv-11472-ADB.
Within a few hours of Harvard's motion for a new temporary restraining order, judge grants the temporary restraining order.

Trump + Palantir = the surveillance dystopia nobody ordered.

Peter Thiel’s building a giant database of Americans—because what could go wrong when a revenge-driven ex-president hires a Bond villain to track us?

SCOTUS just ruled that agencies don't need to predict every oil ripple when building a railway. NEPA's a checklist, not a crystal ball. Justice Sotomayor: maybe at least glance into the crystal? Majority: nah, looks fine.

Thomas and Alito already writing their dissent, possibly from a bald eagle’s nest. Alito: “Presidents can impose tariffs if they shout Liberation! loud enough.” Thomas nodded solemnly, quill in hand. Originalism has never felt so… elastic.

In a democracy, power has boundaries.

Today, the Court of International Trade reminded us that not even a national emergency gives the President a blank check. Tariffs on China, Mexico, and Canada? Not without limits. Not without Congress.

The U.S. will now deny visas to foreign nationals who censor, harass, or surveil Americans for exercising free speech. Is it legal and constitutional? Foreigners have no “right” to enter the U.S., and the government has right to protect its citizens from transnational repression. That’s the theory.

Hard to overstate how surreal it is when Russian state media becomes the voice of reason. When your foreign policy flex is so incoherent it gets mocked by RT, maybe it’s time to log off and stop playing Cold War cosplay.
Russian state media mocks Trump’s post.

A company that lost $401 million last year on just $3.6 million in revenue is now raising $2.5 billion to buy bitcoin.

Not to expand. Not to innovate. Just… bitcoin.

If you guessed this is Trump Media, congratulations—you understand late-stage capitalism.

Prediction: SCOTUS will side with Harvard 6-3. A federal ban on foreign students violates equal protection and academic freedom. Even this Court won’t go there. If Trump wants fewer visas, take it to Congress—not a war on universities. #SCOTUS #Harvard #Immigration

Banning Harvard from enrolling foreign students isn’t just bad policy — it’s unconstitutional, economically self-sabotaging, and intellectually bankrupt. Foreign students enrich campuses, drive innovation, and fuel the U.S. economy. Punishing them punishes us.

SCOTUS just ruled in Kousisis v. United States:
Lying to win a government contract = wire fraud —even if no one loses money & the job gets done well.
If you trick someone into a deal that’s enough for conviction.
Truth in the pitch matters as much as the work.
