Our native Black Cherry came up as a volunteer, and we love its many benefits. The leaves feed more than 450 species of butterfly and moth caterpillars, not to mention the tree feeding pollinators with flowers and mammals with fruit. Baby Chickadees can’t eat sunflower seeds. They eat caterpillars!

The Earth is getting too warm. I keep shrinking my lawn and leaving most of the leaves. It lets nature provide lush mulch, organic fertilizer, and habitat for needed invertebrates. Plus the leaves retain moisture. All for Free!
