decided the change the general vibes of these guys to be more feral and use their claws instead of weapons, also got health and poise attributes working along with knockback and death Gameplay abilities.

Thanks to my hot programmer GF I now have GAS implemented!
all the attacks and dodges are now abilities with stamina costs and the stamina is used to influence the utility of those abilities!
Also Damage is now much easier to implement (hence the capsule traces on attacks)!

Did some small improvements to the Toadboii's state tree and movement stats so they feel a bit more skittish and slippery when fighting.
Next I'll look into giving them some small avoidance so they dont bump into each other so often!

Fixed some of the animation/facing and AI issues with strafing and attacking, but I'm starting to realize I my poor mans blueprint GAS is probably more trouble than implementing the real gameplay ability system🫠

Got some family ties using gameplay tags now!
goats and lizards recognize each other and then form hierarchies based on scale.
so now lizards know to go after goats and goats know to run away from them, while little guys follow larger ones to give some semblance of hearding.

now that I can trigger anims from my state tree I decided to improve my old floaty animations with some nicer stuff and I have to say #UE5 #animation retargetting has come such a long way since the last time I tried it!

The fluffly goats are getting smarter! they now realize when they are stuck and choose different paths so they are less likely get stuck performing strange ritual circles.
