A Detroit guy living in Northern California. I like to talk about the Food/Cooking, Wine, Pro Cycling, NFL, Plants, and I’ll be posting various photos of my bike rides.

My opinions are my own, I have a lot of them.
Theoretically it’s possible but like I mentioned before, both charging systems have different ways of delivering power, safety checks, etc. So it’d be like two separate chargers with their own charge cables that look like they’re encompassed in one. This wouldn’t be different in other countries.

Despite having the same charger, VW has different specifications that it negotiates from the charger than GM, Toyota, or Ford. For safety reasons, a one size fits all charging adaptor wouldn’t work, yet.

Because not all cars used the same charging specifications. Like a VW EV speaks a different language than the Tesla charger to negotiate power, voltage, cooling etc. the adaptor serves as a translator in between the car and the charger.

I don’t charge in public enough to subscribe to any public charging service, but that’s likely bring the EA cost down, or possibly normalize it across chargers. Haven’t looked into it much though.

I’ve only ever used Electrify America once, but it was by far the most expensive public charger I’ve ever used. The Tesla chargers I’ve used (and I’m not a Tesla guy, by any means) have all been the same rate. Electrify America seems to vary based on location, similar to gas station prices.

No. When I’ve had to charge at a Tesla charger, it’s actually been faster than most other chargers. They do charge slightly more for non-Tesla vehicles but it’s still pretty reasonable compared to Electrify America.

Because they have the most complete network of chargers. When I’ve been in remote areas, I’ve often not had any other choice.

Oh, 100%. He’s a fucking asshole. I went as far out of my way as I could to not buy a Tesla, honestly spent more on 2 non-Tesla vehicles in the last year than I would have spent on a Tesla 3 or Y.

I think EV’s are a positive thing. I don’t want Elon rage to be taken out on EV’s in general.

This is something my office would do “We’ve decided to sun set the annual employee satisfaction surveys, effective immediately. We are replacing it w/ a branded, company wallpaper w/ ‘We hear you’ written in comic sans under our logo, & added a gold ‘valued employee’ badge to everyone’s slack photo”

To be fair, gas is also flammable…

Crazy how him and Rogers switched roles. Rogers looked awful on the Jets last year, Fields was 4-2 as a starter in Pittsburgh.

How do we keep getting Vilma as a broadcaster? According to Vilma, Dion Branch is still in the NFL and plays for the Lions. Had about 7 tackles yesterday. 🙄
