Studied Economics and EU studies back in the day, moved to Paris 2004. Woke, atheist, increasingly horrified by humanity. I cook, walk, garden and do crosswords to take my mind off it all
So... not just your Mum and Dad then

When I die, I would want the description under “Amour de Deutz” engraved on my gravestone, please.

I’m sorry what? People of England is this true? Taxis are this expensive?
These few days in soggy Surrey are working out more expensive than a week on the Cote d’Azur 🤨

Annoying aforementioned influencers aside, the Paris Opera Garnier is amazing. The salamander was a superstitious way of warding off fire.

Latest and brand new metro station on extended line 14, just south of Paris. In under 30 years this line has gone from annoying holes in the ground to an incredible, modern iseful and fast line, connecting with Orly airport etc.
See how it’s done UK?

AT LAST I’VE GOT IT!

Couldn’t think of whom or what Jenrick reminds me.

Of course it’s that huge spoilt & idiotic baby in Spirited Away!

And I predict that faced with his dangerous stupidity, Badenoch will soon be like Yubaba 😂

This extract from Anthony Bourdain ‘s Kitchen Confidential has always inspired me. I’ve never gone so far as dry humping from behind but I do go loud and trashy and physical. The best is when the guy responds with something like « you’re gross ». I know you fucking idiot, I’m mirroring you

French food culture ep. 4!
Families go togther to the local market before lunch. Kids are often bribed with a bit of paté, piece of fruit or a sweet. They’re fîne with strong cheese smells, gutted rabbits, piles of fish etc

Have you heard of this viral “Dubai Chocolate bar”? Apparently they’re a huge thing on TikTok but I didn’t know that. I got to try a bit and it was indeed delicious but the price is insane.
Get some good quality pistachio cream, add something lightly crunchy and some dark choc and you’re there!

Here’s my local bi-weekly market with everything from meat & fish & veg to clothes and dog leads. Mostly food though and it’s unbeatable value. One of the highlights of my week and living here in France

Hi @mrjamesob.bsky.social I’m the French British Mum who sent you that school menu on Twitter.
Love the show and the cross-cultural input is always fascinating.
Here’s this week’s menu for the local primary school.
Oldest is now in secondary and it’s even better as all made on location!

The Impressionists loved this part of the world, around the Seine and Paris. This is my photo from the train yesterday going over the bridge into Asnieres sur Seine with sunset behind La Defense, no filter, and definitely Impressionisty imo!

You’ll have to take my word for it but the moon is massive this evening!

It’s been a very grim and grey couple of weeks so lovely to see this when I got off the train

I’m currently ar lt the Cité de l’Espace in Toulouse and I cannot recommend it enough. Part theme park, part place of learning- planetarium, shows, interactive spaces; rockets and modules and space stuff everywhere. I cannot recommend enough (with 4 kids age 7-11 who are all enjoying it.
