You can tell the authors know how ridiculous they are and they absolutely lean into it. (Dave Barry, asked what kind of music the band plays, he responded "hard listening.") But as each essay goes on the authors start to talk about how much fun they were having, and how friendships developed. 2)

I just opened season 5 of Supernatural and there's the receipt from when I bought it that shows OMFG THIS SET IS 15 YEARS OLD THIS IS ME RIGHT NOW

This is the difference between streaming and old school broadcast TV: Stranger Things has 42 eps over 9 years and everybody knows about it because of social media; Renegade had 110 episodes over 5 years and I only knew about it because they made fun of it on Mystery Science Theater 3000.
