Eh, no big deal, if you ask me. Democrats are currently doing well in special elections and it's less than a year before the midterms. This could easily just make the Democrats appear to be in disarray.

To be honest, I don't feel like there's much good in releasing something like this right now. The Democrats are currently doing very well in special elections, and it's close enough to the midterms that this would like just feed into the narrative of Democrats being in disarray.

It really didn't. Most exist polls show that it was the economy and such. Most voters aren't Marxist-Leninist who prioritize foreign policy

What would be the point of doing this right now though, given that Democrats overperforming in special elections? To me, this seems like something that the media could easily spin as "Democrats in disarray" if they do this now.

Normally, I'd agree, but right now, we're doing quite well in special elections and this kind of thing might backfire in that it will make it look like the Democrats are in disarray. At least, that's how the media will likely spin it

Why do that though when the Democrats are doing very well in specially elections right now and this soon before the midterms? Plus, the media would be able to spin it as the "Dems in disarray"?

This is an overreaction Whoever writes the autopsy is going to likely either be moderate or more far-left, and they will, as such, say she was either to progressive, or too moderate.

This feels like an ”enlightened centrist” take and not a progressive take. We do want fair maps and no gerrymandering, but so long as one side is doing it, our side is weakened if we play by norms. Until there’s no gerrymandering allowed, both sides have good reason to do it

Medicare for All isn’t necessarily that populist in the every state, and it would ultimately put things like abortion, transgender care, etc under more executive branch control. Without still having some form of a private option, that would be bad under the current administration

I think if I was going to criticize Democrats for something, it’s that while their policies are generally better than those of the right, too many of them have limited spine. Democrats little spine, while the right has virtually no principles

Also, Ed’s right. There were too many conservative Democrats in Congress for Obama to go being the ACA. This is basic civics. Marxist-Leninist and others on the far-left seem to not understand civics that well

So you think Democrats have the exact same policies as Republicans? Last I checked, Democrats general support LGBT right, while Republicans oppose them. Democrats also want to maintain social security, and Republicans certainly don’t

I think the truth here is that Bernie just doesn’t resonate with key voting blocs. He has long spoken against identity politics and said we should instead discuss class. And while he is generally pro-choice, he has never really prioritized it www.npr.org/2017/04/20/5...

I think the truth here is that Bernie just doesn’t resonate with key voting blocs. He has long spoken against identity politics and said we should instead discuss class. And while he is generally pro-choice, he has never really prioritized it www.npr.org/2017/04/20/5...
Also, while I do agree basic healthcare should be a right, M4A, in its proposed form, would put healthcare funding in the hands of the Executive Branch, which would give them more control over our healthcare. it would also mean that under a government shutdown, healthcare wouldn’t be available

I think part of the issue with M4A right now is that under that system, our healthcare would be funded by the executive branch. I feel like that would give the president too much control over healthcare, unless we somehow also give people a private option

I disagree with that, tbh. As long as the far-right is so heavily funded and as long as we still have Citizens United, we gotta go the fire with fire route. Otherwise, we are at a disadvantage
