Really there's a widespread unstated assumption that there is a difference in kind between Israel's statehood and the statehood of any other states south of Russia and west of Saudi

Also also, demands for political power were never premised on duration of stay. Disenfranchising e.g. Indian South Africans is also wrong

That’s right
"'It was not being gay but for being a jackass — [McGreevey] didn’t come out of the whole divorce looking good,' said a source with the Episcopal Diocese of Newark"
Heaven can wait
Don’t call him Father Jim just yet. Former New Jersey Gov. Jim McGreevey — who shocked the nation in 2004 when he announced he was a “gay American” and stepped down from off…

It seems a bit unwieldy to be saying democratic peoples Republic of Korea in everyday speech.

I can only think of two reasons: 1. Many people say they believe, but do not actually believe, that the settlements are serious crimes or 2. Religious organizations should be allowed to facilitate some serious crimes without protest. I disagree with both

I feel like there are two different questions here, whether it’s just and whether it’s wise. I’m agnostic on the wisdom of the tactic, but I will say I find it odd that so much ire is directed towards the protestors and so little towards an org facilitating serious crimes.

How about lgbt activists protesting the Westboro Baptist Church? After all, homophobia isn’t even a crime! I just think there’s a real resistance to acknowledging the badness of what’s going on here.

What if you protest at a synagogue advocating violations of international law and that protest includes bad actors that have been asked to leave? Does this logic mean that Ukrainians couldn’t e.g. protest an Orthodox Church abetting the “adoption” of Ukrainian children by Russians?

The GOP boldly asks: “what if our party’s only actual commitment was to its own oppositional defiant disorder?”

It’s probably kinda good in that he’s calling for it rather than just killing them

Eloquent?

Yeah in fact in a new gerrymander they probably make that seat bluer in order to make another, more marginal seat slightly redder

As for drawing demand away from public transit, just tax Waymo such that its price exceeds public transit sufficiently, make streets narrower and speed limits slower so it's less attractive, etc.

There are precious few areas of this country – a handful of populous cities – where this technology is even economical, and it seems to me that, in nearly all those cities, our streets are already flooded with cars. To the extent Waymo pushes human drivers off those streets, good!
November 20, 2025 at 2:40 AM
The relevant question is not whether people are killed but whether it is more or fewer people than are killed by human drivers. I am not sacrificing myself or my loved ones in a statistically preventable crash for the greater good of the AI Butlerian jihad, sorry.

And even if he were right, he would instantly recognize this argument is stupid if I were to say that Kamala's rejection of Medicare for All or some other individual issue makes her a moderate. When you look at the broad swath of Starmer's policies, he's pushing Labour right, that's just obvious.
