How exactly can you indirectly abuse someone with no intention to hurt them?

How can you carry out ANY form of abuse with no intention to hurt someone? Isn’t that what the definition of abuse is - an intent to harm someone through words or actions?

Astronomical observers have been tracking a giant metaphor heading straight for Earth. “It’s too early to tell what aspect of life here the metaphor will stand in for - it could be politics (obviously), but it could be something cultural or even some small aspect of personal relationships”…

This is all very well - but being Royal is either hereditary or by appointment.

If it’s by appointment what are the criteria by which the current Royals have got the job?

As much as modern Americans would love to believe it - I think their original beef was with the British Parliament, not the King.

If anything, a significant number of them were of the opinion that the King should be able to override the constitutional power of the Parliament.

So not so different.

The only actual tactic you can use on Traitors is to think like a producer on the show.

Would they select all men? Would they have a mix of young and old? Would they cast all white traitors? Would they chose one of the big dogs? Etc.

Those are the only real clues to who the Traitors might be.

How it’s going to go down:

It won’t be actors and performers who licence their image rights for AI reproduction first. They will be the last to do it. It will be Sports Stars and Influencers - people whose image rights are either a peripheral source of income, or whose image is their sole asset.

Starting to wonder if selecting only celebrities for Traitors skews towards the (charmingly) credulous and ineffectual.

At the same time there is a higher percentage of people with a practiced ability to ‘play an exaggerated version of themselves’ - the ideal hiding place for a traitor in the game.

I’m not really convinced humans have achieved Natural General Intelligence (‘NGI’).

My evidence is the widespread confusion between the concept of knowledge and the concept of intelligence.

There is a change that Rod Hull and Emu is the greatest comedy act we will ever see in our lifetimes.

If Labour had an ounce of sense, tomorrow they would announce that people with ILR will now be able to vote in UK elections. There you go. That's 175,000 people who aren't gonna vote Reform added to the franchise.

Kash Patel has the haunted look of a man who got to see behind the curtain and can never unsee what was revealed to him.

Surely Mandelson was given the job BECAUSE he was a friend of Epstein’s - and therefore close with Trump and most of his cabinet.

What if Trump has a ‘medical incident’ and drops dead while he’s in Britain? The man does not look well…

Why am I being told that a guy who was clearly a troll and a political provocateur was a free speech champion who believed in the power of debate?

We are not very good at telling the difference between actual intelligence and repeating things that sound intelligent.

Unfortunately this is as true our assessment of “AI” machine as it is for our assessment of our fellow humans.
September 10, 2025 at 2:51 PM
The modern term for Ai use should be (or very soon will be) “ethical slavery”.

You’re paying someone else to get an entity (“don’t worry it’s not human”) to do jobs you can’t or don’t want to do for yourself.

“Release the Files!” is such a perfect rallying cry because it both assumes that a competent authority (“Daddy”) is in charge of a neat and ordered cache of incriminating information - and also that the same authority is forbidding you from having the shiny, desired object “for your own good”.

There are Sensible People and Silly People. And when the Sensible People fail to deliver people vote for the Silly Party.

It perfectly obvious that the naked corruption of the Trump regime could not exist without - and is a direct result of - the complete fragmentation of media coverage once it shifted online.

Where there is no consensus - no meaningful condemnation is possible.

Everything is deniable.
September 2, 2025 at 3:55 PM
What if the story is this:

Trump blundered into something he didn’t fully understand when he tipped off police in a feud with his ‘friend’ Epstein over their bidding war for Abraham Gosman’s Palm Beach property. Epstein’s connections made him all but immune to prosecution - until Trump’s shock…

What a relief to know that US Citizens kept their right to bear arms so that they can overthrow corrupt and authoritarian government should it ever reappear in their country.

Generative AI seems like just another tech innovation.

But is it actually a logical (and inevitable) extension of our desire to turn everything into consumable, replay-able units, with premium value for ‘heritage’ credentials - pre-authorised by a more confident age (more confident than ours)?
