Just a few chapters in I can see the art's better than the anime but paneling on action scenes is lacking. Plot's great & Mereoleona already showed up!

Anyway, watched through 102 so far. The series has gotten a LOT better with this current story. Genuinely curious to see how they'll possibly fix the current situation.

Episode 100 was absolutely sick.
Best episode of the series so far & a 10/10 not just for Black Clover but up against any anime franchise. Yeesh. I need more episodes like this. If BC could sustain this writing level & production quality it'll start ranking quite high in my book.

I'm still on the fence as to where I rate Black Clover among the other long Shonen shows ... but I've said it before, and will probably say it again, the non-battle stuff like humor and fanservice are stronger here than in most other shows. These scenes were genuinely funny.

I like when characters all act the way YOU would personally act. As in "If it was me, I would just confront the guy & etc" & then that's what ACTUALLY happens.
This scene in ep53 did that for me. Intelligent, well written questions & answers from both parties. A very good scene.

I'm starting to think that, literally, a lot of cuts weren't sent to the animation director. Like, the schedule was so tight they just told the animator "whatever, clean it up how you want" (maybe corrected one single face or something) A schedule issue no doubt, but still crazy.

...The thing I'm noticing about Black Clover is that there are no scenes being picked as "big moments" it's just TOTALLY random the quality you get, even from sequence to sequence. Take this example. Same episode, moments apart. Horrendous art, then suddenly a gorgeous sequence.

In thrilled about all the items it game me and do agree this leveling system will probably be better than before… but I do wish I had made it to level 50 before the change. At least I got the level 45 metal.

13 episodes in. The lack of any conflict or villains says "We're betting it all on future payoffs" which I'm (for now) OK with just *because* the humor & fanservice actually lands fairly often. Finral hitting on the woman w/ all the kids, Fu-Hah getting stabbed in the foot, etc

Finished rewatching Boruto!
The Code arc got back to the main plot & was interesting from start to finish, though it seemed to struggle with production issues. Only the final 2 episodes were actually well animated.
The problem, is this doesn't actually feel like a climax. (cont)

If this guy right here actually ignored Boruto, went to war, and we got one 10/10 amazing sakuga filled death match episode, I was gonna say "This arc is better than I remembered"... but thanks to the absolute dumpster fire Care-Bears episode that was ep 254, it's just all awful.

This is the most bizarrely produced arc in the whole series. Story-wise it's not TERRIBLE, but no fan cares about these pirates & it's SO long. Also, there's no GREAT sakuga episodes so far, but there's *random* unimportant scenes that'll suddenly look great for no reason like this:

Watching 242 currently. Look, I love studio Pierrot but one issue I do take with them is their compositing during dark scenes. You can light dark scenes to still SEE what's happening. This scene has AMAZING sakuga, but you can't see anything in this muddy darkness. What a waste.

The plot of this episode is the grown ass man w/ a badass samurai character design shows up to TAKE REVENGE upon the *little girl* & the *world* for her having beaten him in a sparing match years earlier.

It's absolutely nuts how the MOMENT Ao shows up again (ep178) Boruto becomes a great series.
And even crazier how within just 2 episodes of Kawaki being introduced the "Boruto" series becomes AS GOOD AS "Naruto" even in it's high moments. (ep189)
What a stunning shift in quality.

Just another handful of episodes and I'll finally arrive at greatness!
