1 additional comment. Having played Dragon Quest III first, it was quite a shock when I first saw Dragon Quest I's world-map. That's a pretty big twist ... that isn't even revealed *in* Dragon Quest I at all.

*Finally* I'll say this. I'm looking forward to seeing where the whole series & plot is heading in the future, though I hope it doesn't take a decade+ to finally conclude.
And if/when the anime comes back, I wouldn't mind working on it, so long as I got a cool episode to direct.

In conclusion:
-Anyone who says Boruto sucks is nuts. It's a good sequel & clearly still has lots to offer in the future.
- & Anyone who says "Boruto is AMAZING" needs to cool off. Cause having some cool plot moments & fights doesn't fix other major problems the series DOES have.

I personally still feel that (even w/ recent improvements) the ANIME is the de-facto "real" series and I hope the anime reworks the plot of even current events to show where the whole cast is during these events, and even gets them involved a bit.
November 22, 2025 at 4:19 PM
Also, 1 more time I gotta mention it's totally insane (to the point of messing up the plot a bit tbh) that the whole cast of Naruto is no where to be found. Wouldn't some of Konoha's Jounin have been good to include in these recent missions & fights? Their absence makes no sense.
November 22, 2025 at 4:19 PM
The problems though... are not insignificant. 45 pages a month is *half* the pace we got from the original Naruto series, and "Boruto" moves pretty slow in general. The pace needs to pick up or this is gonna be a 20 year series & I fear *really* outstay it's welcome.

Continuing...
I'm happy to see the series keeps up building upon (Plotwise, fight-wise, etc) the good base that was laid out during the Kawaki saga. I like that it has *even better* romance than the original Naruto series, which positively adds to character development.

Just caught up with the Boruto Manga! (TBV chapter 28) & with that I've fully re-watched & caught up with the entire franchise!
Some thoughts:
TBV does improve many issues I had with the manga, including letting the characters actually use their powers & have good 1 on 1 battles.

Read through chapter 24 (Almost caught up!)
These 2 fights in Sunagakure were pretty good. Lots of interesting things happening with these Divine Tree villains. If adapted properly there could be a few 10/10 anime episodes here.
Looking forward to seeing what comes next!

Also, It's been *years* since the anime ended, & I'm now seeing (Though to be fair I'm not totally caught up yet) The story hasn't moved *that* far ahead. If the anime does restart anytime soon, they likely *will* have to jump back into having fillers w/ all the side characters.
November 21, 2025 at 1:28 AM
Now, to be fair, here's some negatives though:
Where tf is Rock Lee? Sakura? Tenten? Orochimaru? etc. You know... the *CAST?* W/ Konoha being attacked twice so far they should have done *something.*
Ignoring all these character's existence is *not* cool & lowers the score for me.
November 21, 2025 at 1:28 AM
Continuing w/ the positive stuff...
More characters are being used (Mitsuki finally had a legit good scene) and there's better over-all pacing w/ a better balance between fights and exposition. I like these 10-tail villains & am looking forward to seeing what's gonna happen.
November 21, 2025 at 1:28 AM
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, I've read through chapter 13 so far:
WAY Better. There's a lot of different factions w/different motivations & that's leading to many interesting fights & conflicts. Shikamaru & Kashin Koji being geniuses is great & I like all the new character designs.

Yea I’m down. I actually messaged you guys on Twitter about that but I guess you’re mainly over here now.

2/2
A word regarding the passing of ONE PIECE series director Tatsuya Nagamine.
Rest in Peace Nagamine-san.
November 13, 2025 at 4:28 PM
It's for these reasons & more that I hope the anime nails the final arc the same way they nailed the Kawaki arc... at which point the anime will be De facto the *only* real way to experience this series. (At least part 1)
For the love of god I hope these issues are fixed in TBV.
November 13, 2025 at 3:04 PM
Now I'm sorry, but I gotta rant about negatives too. The WHOLE part 1 of the manga:
- Mitsuki NEVER used his powers in a fight?
- NO Orochimaru, Mirai, or dozens of side characters?
- NO true 1 on 1 battles for Sarada, Mitsuki etc?
Malpractice. WTF writers get your shit together.
November 13, 2025 at 3:04 PM
My favorite scenes in the climactic moments were *definitely* Sarada's power-up, and how Sasuke was able to deduce a ton of info from her request. Really made Sasuke come across as a tactical genius bad-ass... which is exactly how he should always be portrayed.
November 13, 2025 at 3:04 PM
As for the writing... there were some things I liked in all those exposition dumps (Otsutsuki Shibai, the truth behind Eida's powers, Momoshiki explaining what was happening to Boruto) but other things I thought felt rushed & I hope the anime reworks scenes (as I expect it will.)
November 13, 2025 at 3:04 PM
I imagine the anime when it returns will have some padding episodes to get things started again & will incorporate ALL the characters into the climactic moments... so maybe they can extend it to a full Cour (12 episodes) but *WOW* was there only a little post-anime content left.
