My friend and I finished all 12 scenarios in Combat Commander: Europe. It took a little over a year and half. We did it asynchronously via video messaging. We both had the game set up and would keep both boards updated. Now we have moved on to the battle packs.

Trying out Enemy Action: Ardennes. I really like Kharkov, so I have high hopes. The enemy action series has to be one of the deepest (and heaviest) solo systems. It’s truly a marvel.

Played some turns of Thunder at Dawn with the kids. Tomorrow we are going to see the cannon demonstrations at Wilson’s Creek Battlefield.

Played Inis with the kids. It was fun as always, but the expansion makes the game go brutally quick even with 5 players.

Played Norman Conquests with my son. He’s getting into tactical miniature games, so this wasn’t a hard sell. He ended up really loving it. Wants to play the rest of the battles.

Got to hang out with Mitch from Survivor 48 today. Very fun experience for us survivor fans, and he was very cool guy!

For Father’s Day, my wife and kids gave me a puzzle lock and then sent me on a wild scavenger hunt around the house and yard looking for the solution to the puzzle. It took me about an hour to solve the whole thing. It was a blast. Felt very loved even though the solution to the puzzle was “farter”.

Played a lot of games last night. Survivor, the party game from exploding kittens, is actually a pretty faithful interpretation of the tv show. We liked it. Then we played some Flip 7 and Dutch Blitz.

I’ve learned A LOT over the past year ( how to build modules in Vassal and how to draw map and counter art in Krita). I’m very happy with my own game design process, but It sometimes feels like I’m climbing a very lonely mountain because I can’t easily share any of this with friends and family.
