In 2012, supporters of 1 FC Magdeburg were watching their team struggle through a long stretch without a single goal. The drought had dragged on for 9 matches, and frustration in the stands was growing. Instead of turning on the players, the fans chose a more creative way to make their point.During a home game, thousands of them lifted bright blue arrows that pointed directly at the opponent’s net. The message was simple. This is the direction. Put the ball here. The entire stadium held up the arrows at the same time, turning the moment into a mix of comedy and support, and the scene quickly went viral around the world. The gesture became one of the most memorable examples of fans using humor to cope with poor form. It also showed their loyalty. Even in a rough season, they were still filling the seats and trying to lift the team, one giant arrow at a time.

@arseblog.com thanks for reading out my question on the arsecast extra! This fulfils a small life goal, which is a helpful dose of positivity amidst our attempts in Canada to stem the invasion of the Americans.
