I was one really bad math professor away from adding a math minor to my chemistry degree. And then in grad school, I went on to train as a synthetic organic chemist, the chemical specialty that probably uses the least math of all of them, nothing more than basic arithmetic and a tad of algebra!

Will do! I’m sure to gain inspiration for when I have students who shut down when they see numbers, which happens more often than I would like. I wish early elementary school teachers would all have a better grasp of math and be able to impart it to every student who passes through their classrooms.

I’m so looking forward to digging into it! Given that I enjoy math, I’m either exactly your target audience or exactly the opposite. What do we need to do to get people to stop saying they’re bad at math?
