Changing the search from "acorns" to "acorns_on_lawn" (no quotes) does find it though, and highlights the file name. Also pulls in things with "lawn" in the file name.

Too many other things going on to get nerd-sniped into digging in more right now though 😀

The hotel manager, Mr. Heem, would meet all of the large accounts. Put 'em on a personal basis. Just a chat and a handshake.

Definitely not a lawyer, but I read the "for which the local government has adopted an ordinance in accordance with Section 65912.160 indicating the site’s exclusion" part to mean they have to explicitly opt in to exclude sites, not that they are excluded automatically.

I read those amendments as the city *could* exclude sites that matched those criteria (low resource, high fire or sea level rise, etc) but that the city had to opt in to those by adopting an alternative plan by July 1, 2026.

If they did not opt in, then the sites would not be excluded.

Probably not a lot of orgs providing evacuation studies, but why would Berkeley end up using one from Long Island?

They also moved a good chunk of Zone 2 into Zone 3. Most of the Eastlake area is now in Zone 3.

Seems like a missed opportunity for them to tie in with the 4th of July 😀

Best views of San Francisco are from Oakland (and Alameda)

I once read that East Coast disasters/bad weather mostly happen on a schedule and West Coast (fire/earthquakes) is unscheduled, so that shapes the mentality.

Great write-up.

The old AC Transit 339 line that went up to Chabot Space and Science Center would stop at Roberts as well, so it is good to see that this is coming back
