And they get so mad at me when I tell them their monthly marches that can be easily ignored are achieving nothing. They refuse to believe that it takes more effort than walking around with signs. If it isn't disruptive and has no concrete effect on politicians, it will have no lasting benefits.

I hear you. I am in the same boat, but housing can be so expensive. I don't know how much taxes would be deducted, but at 70k, you maybe have $5000 a month and in many cities, more than half of that is rent. Don't resent the guy who is only a bit better off than you. Hate the super rich.

These days, 70k isn't much if you've got kids, and car, and student loans.

If you're not being disruptive, you're useless.

But do they do more than vote? If they aren't prevented from voting? If their vote even has a chance of counting with all the gerrymandering that can make even the bluest states red? And i bet they send emails that governors and senators also ignore.
