I love spending time in my garden, mostly sitting reading or crocheting. I usually talk about food, books, Sheffield, making things, life in general.

9) 5 shelves completed on my #MosaicCrochet bookshelf throw 🧶

Whoops... still can't count...

5 shelves completed on my #MosaicCrochet bookshelf throw... it's getting quite big now... and keeps me really warm and cosy as I work on it... it's still really fun to work on... and makes me feel like I'm a dot matrix printer in slow motion... 🧶

That's a huge Fred collection... we just have one... living on our kitchen windowsill... and I've never seen creme egg toy cars before...

I bought the Christmas card stamps today... I can't believe how much they cost now... almost twice the price they were a few years ago... but at least I like the design... they make me think of these stamps from my childhood... which I always liked...

I might finish the blanket I started making over 10 years ago this winter... it would be good to reclaim the cupboard space... it was my first ever crochet blanket... and such fun... until I lost interest...

I have always been a random collector of free patterns... because I'm left handed... and some patterns written by right handers just don't work out for me... ravelry has a huge database of patterns... I probably have paper copies of the patterns I used to make all these somewhere...

You will eat lots of chips... made with real potatoes... and just a little bit of oil... also roast veg... roast veg & hummus is a regular lunch in our house now... don't overfill the airfryer... it will take longer to cook... and won't be as crisp... this book is great for ideas...

4 shelves completed on my #MosaicCrochet bookshelf throw... I'm still really enjoying working on this pattern... and can't wait to see the next shelf emerge... 🧶

I made a special platter when I did a few pottery sessions... we use it for cakes... and also for cheese etc... it was Mr Intgarden's Christmas present a couple of years ago...

This is our tin opener... I wanted to recommend it to @fionadean.bsky.social & @sparklyfellelf.bsky.social last week... but was on my way to Manchester airport... and couldn't remember the make... it's the best one we've ever had... and is at least 10 years old...

The lights used to light up properly... and were powered through a system of tiny wires and plugs... using a huge battery... that went in the back of the dolls house... sadly the batteries are no longer available... so the lights can no longer light up...

My parents still have my childhood dolls house... My nephews and neices have grown out of it now... but we haven't quite managed to part with it... It's a 1970s Lundby dolls house... and so is most of the furniture... and 4 of the people...

Look what I saw... in my friends fridge... in #Copenhagen... the people of #Sheffield will be outraged... it looks like the international market needs to add an extra descriptive word to the label...

I'm so looking forward to Christmas dinner this year now... I'm thinking of having it with mustard roast potatoes... and roasted oranges with sausage & cranberries... and I will have to add sprouts somewhere...as they are essential to Mr Intgarden... We will cook together...but planning is my job...
November 8, 2025 at 1:06 PM
I've just spent another morning not reading my book... somehow the whole morning disappeared... sorting out the recipes I screenshot the other day... looking for ideas for Christmas dinner... I really like the sound of this recipe... but suspect that it's way too faffy for me to want to make it...

Looks like you could be right though... I found this on their Wikipedia page...

My #MosaicCrochet bookshelf throw is coming along nicely... I love seeing each shelf develop... it's about half way now... unless I decide to add a 7th shelf...🧶

6) we've got new duvets 🛍 🛏

I can't believe the difference it has made... treating ourselves to a new duvet... and cover this week... and for once I have managed to find something that matches our colour scheme... and isn't too white... or too floral... Habitat have a great range of cheap & cheerful bedding...
November 6, 2025 at 8:55 AM
My book group has circulated our book list for 2026... that we agreed last night... and surprise surprise... I have just ordered cheap 2nd hand copies of most of them already... there are just 3 where I want the price to come down if possible...💙📚

One day I might finally get this blanket out of the cupboard and finish it... it was the first blanket I ever started to make... and was an absolute joy to work on... but has been sitting in the cupboard for about 10 years or so...

I said hello to our favourite tree... then walked through the muddy field... and up to the lane... that feels like the top of the world... I love that this is less than half an hours walk from suburbia...🌞🍂🍁🍂
