The thing about a Passive House is that the MVHR system must be maintained and serviced. The Paul unit at home has been working away for 13 years and is overdue a full check-up. Is there anyone in Ireland that does this? Please DM with suggestions 🙏🙏🙏

This, my friends, is a huge clump of frogspawn in flooded land by the River Barrow this morning. I haven’t seen frogspawn in years.

This very interesting map from the European Patent Office shows the spatial distribution of DeepTech startups, spin-offs, universities, and investors.

Would love to overlay this onto other datasets.

A Eurobarometer survey on ‘European citizens' knowledge and attitudes towards science and technology' contains some interesting results on perceptions of trust and equity. Lots here that living labs can help address but also lots that relate to the wider system.

Woke up this morning to windows dotted with salt. We are 60km from the coast. #storméowyn

Doing a digital spring clean today - downloading my data from platforms I no longer use, deleting social media accounts, that kind of thing. And while I can’t bear to be part of what is happening on these platforms, I wonder what new vulnerabilities a mass exodus creates?

I love this map! It’s of Transport Infrastructure Ireland’s proposal for 3,500km of cycle routes prepared for the Department of Transport and published today. The cycle routes, to be in place by 2040, will connect more than 200 settlements and 2.8 million people.

Like this list of guideposts presented by Arjen Wals to December’s National Forum on Education for Sustainable Development at TU Dublin. It starts with ‘create spaces’ and ends with ‘culture’, ‘hope’ and ‘care’.

If anyone feels a seasonal urge to jump into a body of cold water in Ireland, I can recommend this total immersion experience...almost freezing conditions mitigated by The Hot Box Sauna. There are no sharks in the Barrow river afaik but cage welcome nonetheless.
